Baseball can be really mean.

As Andrew Lambo buttoned up his shirt following the Pirates' 9-8 ninth-inning, blown-lead bummer of a loss to the Cubs, he lamented some of his lousy luck at the plate of late, and he did so with just the right tortured tone: "I go up there thinking aggressive, and I swing at a ball. I go up there patient, and I'm down in the count. It's enough to ..."

Yeah, no need to finish, kid. Fail just seven times out of 10, as they say, and you're in Cooperstown.
