Duquesne’s Waskowiak finally ready to play


Sophomore guard Erin Waskowiak was tired of hearing the questions about when she would be able to play for the Duquesne women's basketball team.

It is easy to understand why.

Waskowiak was a redshirt in the 2013-14 season after accidentally being hit by the family’s car with her brother behind the wheel. Her compound tibia fracture required several surgeries, and there was initially concern as to whether she would ever walk again.

Following the surgeries and recovery process, she was set to return in December 2014; however, an ACL tear delayed that and once again left her on the sideline.
