MORGANTOWN, W.Va. -- The West Virginia women's soccer team, NCAA quarterfinalists in 2015, has already faced reigning champion No. 2 Penn State this season (1-1 draw), but they did it without returning Olympic bronze medalists Kadeisha Buchanan and Ashley Lawrence.

The duo of starters helped lead the way toward Canada's bronze medal at the Rio Games, and Mountaineer fans were hoping the stars' return to Morgantown would lead the way toward a win over No. 8 Clemson on Friday. They succeeded as the No. 6 Mountaineers won 1-0 home grass.
