In the aftermath of a 21-point loss to Rhode Island on Jan. 2, Jim Ferry called his team’s toughness into question. His Duquesne squad then followed that loss up with back-to-back double-digit losses on the road in sold-out venues.

Still, Ferry believes his team improved from that blowout defeat against the Rams more than a week ago.

“That Rhode Island game was something out of the norm,” Ferry said on Monday’s Atlantic 10 conference call. “I thought we responded in the next two games, we just didn't respond with wins. But we’re getting better.”
