RICHMOND, Va. -- Friends, I can’t tell you how excited I am to be sharing my work with the fine subscribers of DKPS.
Since I was a little kid, I've basically only cared about two things: Sports and Drawing. Luckily, I've found many ways to combine my binary obsessions in writing and drawing, among other things, my Old-Timey Hockey Tales comic book. It's fun, amazing work. I enjoy the research, I dig poring through old magazines and auctions looking for reference photos, and I love drawing ugly old hockey players! It’s work I love to do, and a lot of folks really seem to enjoy reading and looking at it.
So, for one of my two monthly and exclusive-to-DKPittsburghSports.com features, I’m taking on the entirety of the teams and sports covered at this site. The Steelers, Penguins, Pirates … if there’s a Pittsburgh slant, I’m on it. I’ll focus on a few memorable events each month (in this case, February), some well-known, and some a good bit more obscure, but I’m sure no matter what I unearth, there’ll be some among you who’ll say 'Yeah, I was there!'
Teeth-gnashing over tough losses and lopsided trades aside, sports are supposed to be fun … so let’s get cracking, and I hope you dig This Month in Pittsburgh Sports History:
