Corey Hertzog hit the pitch, grabbed his right ankle and winced before hopping to his left foot and trying to shake off a tackle in the box in the 45th minute.

The Hounds' striker spent much of the next 22 minutes limping back and forth, hindering the Hounds' attack. Hertzog eventually came off in the 77th minute at Dave Brandt's discretion, but by that time the damage was done — both to Hertzog's right ankle and to the match, which ended, 2-1, in favor of Saint Louis FC Wednesday night at Highmark Stadium.
