This was some random security guard in the lower guts of Verizon Center. Tall, lanky dude, walking even more expressively than he was talking.
To no one, I should add. He was talking to absolutely no one.
"Every time with these guys! EVERY TIME!"
Another arena employee elsewhere in the building spat out his own invective.
"What good is the President’s Trophy," he came at a co-worker, "if we just have to play Pittsburgh?"
Ha! He could have stopped after the first six words, right?
One guy in the seats right in front of the press box, standing throughout the Capitals' stirring surge in the third period of Game 1 of this Stanley Cup playoff series, raised his arms triumphantly during a wild sequence around Marc-Andre Fleury's crease ...
