Jameson Taillon will start for the Pirates exactly five weeks after he underwent surgery to treat testicular cancer.

After making a total of three rehab starts between Altoona and Indianapolis, the 25-year-old right-hander is scheduled to face the Rockies at PNC Park on Monday at 7:05 p.m., Clint Hurdle announced Saturday morning.

"Physically, mentally, 100 percent," Taillon said when asked if he's ready. "If anything, I had some time to work on some things I wanted to get done and sharpen up. I'm probably in a better spot than I was before."
