The NHL and adidas on Tuesday in Las Vegas unveiled the new jerseys for all 31 teams ahead of the first season of their seven-year partnership, and not much changed for most teams.
Not much seems to have changed for all teams, including the Penguins, but one slight change could play a pivotal role in how the league seeks new revenue streams moving forward.
Each jersey has more room on the collar, and reports are that advertising is the reason behind that.
Steve Carp of the Las Vegas Review-Journal reported the reason behind the extra space on the collars is to accommodate ads.
