What are we all doing here?
Sorry, but if you want the terrible truth, that was pretty much my thought process right after batting practice Tuesday evening at PNC Park.
Right over there in the distance, our spectacular Downtown skyline was soaking up the sun as only it can. Bikers, skateboarders and baby strollers roamed by on the riverfront greens. The Clipper tooted along the Allegheny. The Canada geese were flying low, the ducks quacking by the docked boats. And connecting it all was the sweetest, coolest of summer breezes.

It's urban nirvana. That's what our city's become. Bustling and prosperous, but also breathtakingly peaceful.
And sure, there would be a ballgame, too. But I dare say it was barely distinguishable from the peace perspective, foreground to background, at least from this perch up in the press box.
