LATROBE, Pa. -- Arrival day at Saint Vincent College could be considered a holiday for the Steelers' roster (particularly those with checkbooks that support extravagant entrances and fun).

It's a chance to have a little fun before the hard work starts on the field. It's a chance to show off the color of a new Ford, Toyota, Porsche, Mercedes or Cadillac 'toy' purchased with a new contract's funds.

It's even a chance for veterans and rookies alike to avoid the media altogether, knowing dang well that we'll be far too close for far too many lunches and practices under the Saint Vincent sun.

For me, arrival day is more akin to an obstacle course where my primary objective is to create feature photographs while avoiding iPhone-clad reporters and television personalities. It can be a challenge, but a welcome one, and certainly a fun one.

Ultimately, arrival day is a chance for everyone to refamiliarize themselves with Saint Vincent College and to mentally prepare for the fact that the football season is one. day. away. For now, though, let's look at some favorites from arrival day:
