UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – Saquon Barkley sprinted 85 yards, dancing along the sideline as he side stepped a pair of Georgia State players en route to his first-quarter touchdown.

The Nittany Lions’ running back compiled 226 all-purpose yards during the No. 5 Lions’ 56-0 rout of Georgia State, but Barkley’s quickest maneuver of the night might’ve come on the sideline.

As senior safety Marcus Allen dashed down the field with his first career interception tucked away, it was Barkley who took off to greet his teammate, jumping up and down in front of the bench like he’d just scored himself.

"He was out there looking like he was a high school running back making cuts," Barkley said. "I was screaming on the sideline like a little girl like, 'Marcus! Marcus! Marcus! That guy just brings a lot of energy to the team."

The celebratory hoop-la continued all evening and there was a lot for Barkley and the Lions to cheer about during Saturday night’s beat down of the Panthers. In what James Franklin called a "complete game," something he's been searching for throughout non-conference play, Penn State capped the non-conference slate with 526 yards of total offense and a defense that came up with five takeaways.
