IOWA CITY, Iowa -- As most of Penn State's team was in the end zone celebrating with Juwan Johnson, Heisman Trophy candidate Saquon Barkley eventually took a couple steps behind the Lions' bench and extended his hand.
In the stands was an Iowa fan in a black t-shirt and Barkley, after a Penn State record 358 all-purpose yards that propelled the Lions to a 21-19 victory, thanked the man for four quarters worth of enjoyable smack. It might be the most Saquon Barkley thing that's happened during his Penn State time in that it showcases his competitiveness and humility and on a night where Barkley carried the team, it was only fitting that he thanked everyone else.
"Yeah, you caught me on video, I heard," Barkley said afterward with a smile. Indeed I did:
