STATE COLLEGE, Pa. — Penn State will officially be at the center of the college football world next Saturday.
ESPN announced late Saturday night that its marquee college football program, College GameDay, will be broadcast live from outside Beaver Stadium ahead of undefeated No. 3 Penn State's 7:30 p.m. kickoff against No. 17 Michigan next Saturday.
The top matchup in college football will also feature a White Out in Happy Valley, which is usually quite the spectacle.
It is the 16th time College GameDay has been at the site of a Penn State game, but this will be the first time it's been broadcast from Happy Valley since the Nittany Lions' loss to Iowa in 2009.
GameDay was in Columbus for the 2010 PSU-OSU game and in Indianapolis last December for the Big Ten title game.
The popular pregame show will broadcast from 9 a.m. to noon and the exact location on campus will be announced Monday. During the 2009 appearance the set was near the Bryce Jordan Center, which featured Beaver Stadium in the background. Additionally, College Football Live, which will broadcast Friday night, will also originate from the set and several SportsCenter segments will be filmed Friday afternoon.
The Nittany Lions' matchup against the Wolverines is the beginning of a difficult three-game stretch that also includes games at Ohio State and Michigan State.
