STATE COLLEGE, Pa. -- The Nittany Lions took care of business against Nebraska last weekend and in doing so held onto their No. 10 spot in this week's College Football Playoff rankings.
James Franklin's team was the third highest ranked in the Big Ten this week yet again, coming in behind No. 5 Wisconsin and No. 9 Ohio State. They're also one of the conference's five teams ranked in the top 25. Penn State has been ranked in every set of College Football Playoff rankings this season and has been in the top 15 every week.
Should the Nittany Lions beat Maryland on Saturday and wrap up the regular season at 10-2 it'd mark the 23rd 10-win season for Penn State.
This week's complete rankings:
1. Alabama

While it won't be known until Dec. 3, the Nittany Lions' bowl destinations seem to be getting dwindled down with the Cotton Bowl and Citrus Bowl still among the leaders according to national pundits. Whatever happens with Wisconsin in next weekend's Big Ten title game against Ohio State will have an impact on where the rest of these Big Ten teams factor into the bowl pecking order.
A Penn State vs. Notre Dame matchup in the Cotton Bowl is still a realistic option that seemingly would be of interest to many college football fans.
