FOLLOW THE SESSION
1:27 p.m.: Happy Thanksgiving. I'll have a story up later today.
1:18 p.m.: With the exception of Vance McDonald (ankle), JuJu Smith-Schuster (hamstring) and Joe Haden (leg), all of the Steelers participated in practice today.
That's not a good sign for McDonald, who did not practice Wednesday. McDonald missed last Thursday night's win over Tennessee with an ankle injury suffered against Indianapolis.
He actually returned to the game following the injury and caught an important touchdown pass against the Colts but was in a walking boot all of last week. He is, at least, out of the walking boot now.
Ben Roethlisberger was asked what it will mean for Martavis Bryant and Eli Rogers if Smith-Schuster can't play this week.
"They'll get more opportunities," he said.
McDonald and Smith-Schuster will both need to get on the field Friday if they hope to play Sunday against the Packers.
1:15 p.m. -- Crisis averted. Roethlisberger was feeling much better today than yesterday.
12:45 p.m. -- The Steelers just wrapped up practice.
THE SETUP
We're starting Steelers live files for practices and press conferences this week, following what we've done on Penguins coverage all through the NHL season, but please know that, unlike in hockey, we can't report what we see in NFL practices, per league guidelines. So we'll just use this space for any allowable updates, as well as a quick repository for news after the practice and media availability.
It's Thursday, so it's a practice and coordinators day. I'll put any immediate news of note here on this live file, then have a full article later in the afternoon.
