It's been 10 years since the '13-9 game' in which Pitt knocked off No. 2 West Virginia in the Backyard Brawl, killing WVU's National Championship hopes in the process.

Today's hero, Kenny Pickett, along with the other Panther freshmen, would have been 7 or 8 years old when that happened, and they likely didn't have a horse in that race.

Today, the Panthers again took the field against the No. 2 team in the country, the Miami Hurricanes. Again, they won. Again, the outcome trampled the hearts of a championship contender.

Up top is my favorite image of the day's upset. Pickett celebrated with his teammates, went on video with ESPN and then trotted off the field with his head high and the game ball in his hand.
