5 p.m.: Roethlisberger was given the day off from practice today in a coach's decision, perhaps giving some idea as two where the Steelers are leaning in terms of playing their starting quarterback in Sunday's regular season finale against Cleveland.
Mike Tomlin said Tuesday he hasn't made a decision about who will play and who might sit against the Browns.
"I love being out there with the guys," Roethlisberger said. "Kind of like preseason games, it’s kind of hard not to play. It’s kind of one of those things that’s not my call."
Le'Veon Bell, who is 14 yards behind the Rams' Todd Gurley for the league lead in rushing yards, said he's not concerned about winning a rushing title.
"No, we want to win the Super Bowl," he told me. "If coach decides to sit me out, I'm good with that. I want to win the Super Bowl, not a rushing title."
Bell, however, practiced on Wednesday.
In addition to Roethlisberger, also sitting out were center Maurkice Pouncey (hip) and receiver Antonio Brown, who has already been declared out with a calf injury.
Guard Ramon Foster, who missed Monday's game at Houston with a concussion, was back on the field today, as was cornerback Coty Sensabaugh (shoulder).
10:17: Eli Rogers got the Steelers special teams stick for his efforts against the Houston Texans Monday night.
Rogers had five punt returns for 82 yards in the game, including a 16-yard return and a 27 yarder that is the longest of the season for the Steelers.
10:15: Nickel corner Mike Hilton was named AFC Defensive Player of the Week for his six-tackle, three-sack performance in a 34-6 win over the Houston Texans on Monday. Hilton also forced a fumble.
Hilton joined Troy Polamalu and Carnell Lake as the only Steelers defensive backs to record three sacks in a game. He also became the first cornerback since the sack became an official statistic in 1982 to have three sacks in a game. Polamalu and Lake were both safeties.
