You know, Jerry Seinfeld was probably right: We don't root for players anymore, we root for "laundry." Players routinely come and go in an era of free agency and salary caps. Fans root for the uniforms, not the interchangeable players who wear them.
But Marc-Andre Fleury might be one of the exceptions to the Seinfeld rule. Then again, Fleury was always different. The 1,000-watt smile, the remarkable athleticism, the wins -- don't forget the latter -- Fleury always stood out.
