The Penguins reassigned Teddy Blueger to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton on Monday.

Over the past 11 days and six games, Blueger accompanied the parent club on road trips to Dallas, St. Louis and Columbus. He did everything except play in a game, and will still be waiting.

The 23-year-old was recalled Feb. 8, but was a healthy scratch during his short stint in the NHL. In 45 games in the AHL this season, the Latvian recorded 26 points (12 goals, 12 assists) to rank fifth on Wilkes-Barre.

Blueger's demotion is an indication that Patric Hornqvist, out since Feb. 2 with a lower body injury, is close to returning.

The Penguins will return to practice Tuesday morning at the Lemieux Sports Complex. They are riding a five-game winning streak following Sunday night's 5-2 win over the Blue Jackets, moving into first place in the Metropolitan Division.
