The Penguins’ regular season officially ends April 6, 2018 when the Senators come to town for an Eastern Conference final rematch with … potentially … a lot less on the line. Unofficially, though, this team’s playoffs started last night with a 4-3 overtime loss to the Devils.

Six points separats the Penguins from the Devils, meaning six points from the final playoff spot. Both teams played with that in mind, particularly the Devils as they flashed speed, a goal-of-the-year candidate and a clutch overtime performance.
