The Steelers have agreed to terms with free agent safety Nat Berhe, who is expected to help bolster the team's special teams unit.
Berhe, 26, was a fifth-round draft pick of the New York Giants in 2014. A former San Diego State star, Berhe (5-11, 193) essentially replaces Robert Golden on the team's roster. Golden was released prior to the start of free agency in a cost-cutting move.
Berhe announced his signing on his Twitter feed.
The hit power in the AFC North just went wayyyyyy up.

Berhe is the third veteran free agent signed from another team by the Steelers, who also have added safety Morgan Burnett and inside linebacker Jon Bostic. He has appeared in 38 career games, making two starts for the Giants.
He has 22 career tackles as a defensive player and 14 on special teams. He led the Giants with 10 special teams tackles in 2017.
Berhe, whose father is from the African nation of Eritrea, holds the distinction of being the first native of that country to be selected in the NFL draft.
