The Steelers unveiled throwback uniforms they will wear during the 2018 season. And unlike some of the past throwbacks they have used, these will be very familiar to longtime fans of the team.
In fact, you just might already own a replica with the name Bradshaw, Swann or Lambert on the back.
The Steelers went back to the uniforms they wore from 1969 to 1996, including the 1978 and 1979 championship seasons, for their throwbacks this time after dipping deep into their past for their previous efforts. It made sense since this season will mark the 40th anniversary of their Super Bowl XIII win over Dallas.

“We are coming up on the 40th Anniversary of Super Bowl XIII and next year will be the 40th anniversary of Super Bowl XIV, so we thought it was a good time to celebrate those teams and those years by bringing back that jersey and that uniform,” said team president Art Rooney II. “We’re excited about being able to celebrate what was a great time in Steelers history and celebrate those teams.”
Pittsburgh will wear the block number uniforms when they host Cleveland Oct. 28 at Heinz Field.
