Fast pace for Pitt women upon White arrival

Plenty of attention has been given this spring to Jeff Capel and the Pitt men's basketball program, but just a few doors down the hall, there's another move-in steadily in progress.

Lance White, who was hired in April as the new women's basketball coach at Pitt, is fast getting accustomed to his new city and new team, and while the challenges he faces with the women's program differ from what Capel is up against on the men's side, one thing the coaches share is their enthusiasm to get started quickly in their new jobs.

White sat down to speak exclusively with DK Pittsburgh Sports in his office Friday, and while some of his shelves had been filled already with family photos and items from Pitt history, the abundance of sticky notes on the walls and furniture indicate the new coach still has much he wants to do to get settled in, starting with his large, wooden desk.
