After leading the expansion Vegas Golden Knights to a most unlikely appearance in the Stanley Cup Final, Marc-Andre Fleury wasn't going anywhere soon.
Friday, the Knights made it official, extending the veteran goalie's contract.
Fleury, who was to become an unrestricted free agent at the end of the 2018-19 season, signed a three-year, $21 million deal with an average annual value of $7 million. He had been scheduled to make $5.75 million this season and, apparently, he's quite pleased with the new deal:

After being exposed in last summer's expansion draft by the Penguins, Fleury went 29-13-4 with a 2.24 goals-against average and .927 save percentage for Vegas. He then went 13-7 with a 2.24 GAA and .927 save percentage in the playoffs before losing to Washington in five games in the Cup Final.
With his $7 million AAV, Fleury would be tied for the fourth-highest paid goalie in the NHL behind the Canadiens' Carey Price ($10.5 million cap hit), the Rangers' Henrik Lundqvist ($8.5) and the Blue Jackets' Sergei Bobrovsky ($7.425).
Fleury, 33, was drafted first overall in 2003 by Pittsburgh, who he helped to three Stanley Cup championships. He is the Penguins' all-time leader for a goaltender in games (690), wins (375) and shutouts (44).
