A game-worn Mario Lemieux jersey might cost you a couple thousand dollars.
A Lemieux-worn mansion in Quebec? Well, that's going to set you back a little more. Try, $21,999,066.
That's the asking price for Le Magnfique's eight-bedroom, nine-bathroom, 17,000-square foot, Swiss-style castle that went on the market this week. And, yes, the $66 at the end of the price tag is no coincidence.
”He agreed to put the $66 at the end of his asking price,” realtor Michel Naud said.
The property, known as the Chateau Fleur de Lys, has everything you'd want at that price range, including: 17 fireplaces, a wine cellar, pool, tennis court and a two-bedroom guest house. And, hey, it comes fully furnished.
It's located about 80 miles northwest of Montreal and "offers a majestic panoramic view" of Tremblant Lake in the Laurentian Mountains. Lemieux bought the property in 2007 and construction began in 2009.
”It really is a property that reflects who Mario was as a player,” Naud said. ”It’s very grand and very elegant.”
The Lemieux family's primary residence is in Sewickley, Allegheny County.
