Many great athletes, hockey players in particular, have hailed from Nova Scotia.
The Canadian maritime province is the home to Al MacInnis, Bobby Smith, Brad Marchand, Lowell MacDonald and Nathan MacKinnon, to name but a few. But only one is the greatest: Sidney Crosby.
According to the Nova Scotia Sports Hall of Fame, the pride of Cole Harbour is the greatest athlete in the history of the province. He was selected by a panel of 36 Nova Scotian athletes, coaches and media representatives, as well as by members of the public.
He was honored on Thursday night at the Halifax Convention Centre ballroom where more than a thousand people attended the event.
Afterward the soon-to-be 31-year-old talked about leadership and being a Nova Scotian:

The next Hall of Fame induction for Crosby will likely be the Hockey Hall of Fame in Toronto. But hopefully, not anytime too soon.
