Apparently, Ramon Foster won't be the only player the Steelers hope to get back from injury before their regular season opener in a few weeks.
According to an ESPN report, tight end Xavier Grimble had surgery to repair a ligament in his thumb that was injured in a training camp practice nearly two weeks ago and will be out of action until at least the start of the season Sept. 9 at Cleveland.
The Steelers have already been thin at tight end with starter Vance McDonald having been out for most of training camp with a foot injury. McDonald told me last week he expects to be ready to play at the start of the season, as well.
Both Grimble, a third-year pro, and McDonald are expected to be on the team's 53-man roster along with Jesse James.
