All-Pro guard David DeCastro might be a little limited in practice this week and he's sure to show up on the Steelers' injury report with what Mike Tomlin called a "fractured" bone in his hand.
But missing game time?
That's out of the question as the Steelers prepare for their home opener Sunday at Heinz Field against the Kansas City Chiefs.
DeCastro suffered the injury in the second half of last Sunday's 21-21 tie against the Cleveland Browns and was replaced for two plays by B.J. Finney. But after being checked out by team doctors, he returned and finished.
"It's being looked at and dealt with," Tomlin said Tuesday. "It may affect him from a participation standpoint as we get ready this week."
DeCastro had a brace on his right hand when he arrived at the Rooney Complex Monday but took it off later in the day.
DeCastro has missed just one game in the last five seasons, that coming in the regular season finale last year against Cleveland when he and a number of starters were held out by Tomlin with the Steelers' playoff spot secured.
