Mike Tomlin refused to use injuries or the elements in Cleveland as an excuse for the Steelers' 21-21 tie with the Browns.
But an elbow injury to Ben Roethlisberger might begin to explain his dismal three-interception, two-fumble performance.
During his weekly press conference on Tuesday, Tomlin revealed that the quarterback sustained the injury Sunday and will be limited this week as the Steelers begin to prepare for the Kansas City Chiefs at Heinz Field. Traditionally, that's meant that Roethlisberger won't practice on Wednesday as the Steelers install their game plan for Week 2.
Reading between the lines a little, it sounds like Roethlisberger's injury isn't serious and he is almost certain to play against the Chiefs.
Roethlisberger said earlier on his 93.7 KDKA-FM radio show that he'd sustained bumps and bruises but gave no indication of an injury.
He suffered the injury while being sacked by linebacker Genard Avery on the next-to-last offensive snap of the game.
Roethlisberger did return to the game and threw one more pass.
