David DeCastro did not practice again and would seem highly doubtful to play Monday in Tampa Bay. However, Marcus Gilbert said he still might.
As he did in last week's loss to Kansas City, B.J. Finney will start in place of DeCastro, who suffered a hand fracture in Week 1 against Cleveland. The All-Pro right guard had been the Steelers' most durable lineman, missing just one game over the previous four seasons, and that was when he was rested in last season's regular-season finale against the Browns.
Gilbert said he was a limited participant on Saturday and is still hopeful to play against the Bucs despite not taking part in any team drills this week.
"I'm very hopeful where I'm at right now," he said. "I don't want to jinx myself. Want to keep rehabbing and see how things go for the game."
The veteran right tackle missed nine games last season, four of them due to suspension and five to a previous hamstring injury. If he can't go, Matt Feiler would make his second career start.
Morgan Burnett, the Steelers' prized free agent signing, also did not practice for the second straight day. He had been limited by a groin injury to start the week.
Joe Haden (hamstring), Ramon Foster (knee), Stephon Tuitt (illness) and Tyson Alualu (shoulder) were full participants.
