North Texas University is un-retiring the jersey number of its most famous alumnus.
Don't worry, it's only for one game.
On Saturday, defensive end LaDarius Hamilton will wear Joe Greene's iconic No. 75 jersey for the Mean Green's Conference USA opener against Louisiana Tech.
It's all part of North Texas's tribute this weekend to Greene . In addition to bringing his number out of retirement, a statue of the greatest Steeler will be unveiled in front of Apogee Stadium. The Mean Green will also wear the same uniforms that Greene wore circa 1968.
The university announced the news on Wednesday with this take on Greene's famous 1979 Coca-Cola commercial:
He’s the ? and the only Mean Green Football player to wear the No. 75 in the last 50 years. Until this week. For one day only, the iconic Joe Greene jersey is coming out of retirement. #GMG #UniSwag pic.twitter.com/jeaqesZ5n2

"For over 50 years, Joe Greene has made a tremendous impact on our university and the athletic program," athletic director Wren Baker said in August in a statement announcing the statue. "As a football player, as an alumnus and as a regent, he has made significant contributions to this campus and brought great honor to the Mean Green family.
"He is one of the greatest defensive linemen in the history of football and he's one of us. We are very excited to recognize Joe's achievements and contributions with this statue."
Hamilton, a junior, was chosen to wear No. 75 for his leadership to UNT.
