Antonio Brown usually only talks to the media during the week on Friday and Sunday.
But with the news that there are two lawsuits pending against him in Florida, Brown's agent crafted a statement regarding the situation Thursday in which the Steelers' star receiver said those suits are frivolous.
“It has now been made public that two lawsuits containing false claims have been filed against me,” Brown said in a statement. “The facts will soon come out that prove my innocence. My focus will remain on football and I will not let the cases serve as a distraction.”
The lawsuits, which came to light via reports on TMZ.com, were filed earlier this year in Florida. The suits were filed by his landlord and a gentleman who said Brown nearly hit him and a toddler when he threw furniture out a window, TMZ reported.
Brown reportedly also claimed that $80,000 in cash and a handgun had been stolen from his apartment in Miami.
The league is monitoring the situation, though it is not clear at this point if Brown would be subject to any discipline since no criminal charges were filed.
