MONTREAL -- The Penguins hope to change just about everything from how their first meeting with the Canadiens went, and they'll certainly have a different goaltending matchup.
Casey DeSmith will be the visitors' starter tonight at 7:08 p.m. at the Bell Centre, Mike Sullivan confirmed after DeSmith was first off the ice following the morning skate. Matt Murray, unable to suit up Thursday because of a concussion, was a full participant in the skate and will dress as the backup. Tristan Jarry also made the trip.
Also for the visitors, Jamie Oleksiak stayed out after the skate, essentially confirming that Olli Maatta will take his place in the lineup tonight, though that wasn't confirmed.
On the home side, Carey Price won't play or suit up because of the flu. Montreal management announced that this morning, along with naming backup Antti Niemi tonight's starter and recalling Charlie Lindgren from Laval of the AHL on an emergency basis. Price, one of the game's great goaltenders, had started all three of the Canadiens' games, going 1-1-1 with a .909 save percentage, including stopping 21 of 22 shots in his team's 5-1 victory over the Penguins last Saturday at PPG Paints Arena.
Another change for the home team: Tomas Plekanec, a veteran center who had been a healthy scratch through three games, will be added to the lineup tonight, replacing Matthew Peca on the fourth line, Claude Julien confirmed after the skate.
