Vontaze Burfict argues with an official last Sunday in Cincinnati. - MATT SUNDAY / DKPS

The NFL didn't suspend Vontaze Burfict, but the league sure lightened his wallet.

The Bengals' notorious linebacker was fined $112,000 for "multiple plays that constituted unnecessary roughness" in the Steelers' 28-21 victory last Sunday in Cincinnati, according to our news partners at WPXI-TV.  There was no suspension announced, which means none is forthcoming.

The league didn't specify how many hits "multiple” represent, but two were cited specifically: He hit Antonio Brown, a forearm/elbow driven to the head, with 11:19 left. And he drove his helmet into that of James Conner with 5:17 left in the third quarter.

Here's the hit on Brown:

And here's the other, on Conner:

Several of the Steelers expressed that Burfict, a multiple offender who was fresh off another suspension, should have been hit with a severe penalty.
