Darrin Hall powers through tacklers earlier this season against Penn State - Matt Sunday / DKPS

The backfield tandem of Qadree Ollison and Darrin Hall has been the poster for Pitt's success this season, as the seniors became the first Panthers duo to eclipse 1,000 rushing yards in the same season.

So with the Panthers gearing up to play in the Sun Bowl on Dec. 31, the featured backfield will have one final run in a Pitt uniform before heading off into the West Texas sunset — and into NFL training camps next season.

Ollison leads the Panthers with 1,190 yards and 11 touchdowns on 189 carries, good for a 6.3 yards per carry average. Hall has 1,021 yards and nine scores on the ground, and he has done it in just 137 carries (7.5 yards per carry). Together, they have served as the one-two punch that helped push Pitt (7-6) to the ACC Championship Game, and there was no question in their minds about taking part in this year's Sun Bowl.
