Vontaze Burfict may never take the field again.
The Bengals linebacker sustained his seventh-career concussion Sunday during a 26-18 loss to the Browns, and now his future is in jeopardy.
Those are only the seven we know about as well. I always wonder how many players have concussions that don’t end up in protocol. https://t.co/m4YrCMfM0G

Video of Burfict heading off the field emerged Sunday via Damon Kecman, showing him getting physical with a Bengals trainer in the process.

Due to the injury, Burfict is unlikely to play Sunday at Heinz Field against the Steelers, and with his second concussion in December and his seventh overall in his pro career, he may never play another snap.
As noted by Bengals reporter Katherine Terrell, his seven concussions are only the ones officially documented and treated. It's possible Burfict sustained more that went undetected and undiagnosed.
In his professional career, Burfict also sustained a neck strain in 2014, a torn meniscus in October 2014, and a shoulder injury last December.
