Al Riveron, senior vice president of officiating for the NFL, releases a video each Friday discussing some of the more controversial or close calls from the previous week's slate of games.
And as Riveron did three weeks ago when he failed to make mention of a terrible non-false start call in the Steelers' 33-30 loss to the Chargers Dec. 2, Riveron made no mention of either pass interference penalty called on Joe Haden in last Sunday's 31-28 loss at New Orleans.
Just in case you forgot, here are those two plays in question.
Both came on fourth down plays for the Saints and led directly to touchdowns.
The first, which came in the first quarter, has been soundly panned by every former NFL official who now analyzes officiating for the television networks, including Gene Steratore, Mike Pereira and Dean Blandino. Pereira and Bladino both held Riveron's role with the NFL before he did.
That came on fourth-and-1 and placed the ball at the Steelers' 1-yard line. The Saints scored one play later.
The second came on a fourth-and-2 play and kept the Saints' game-winning touchdown drive alive.
While Riveron didn't make mention of either of those plays, he did, however, talk about a pass interference call that shouldn't have been made in the Packers' come-from-behind win against the Jets.
Here's his full video explanation of those calls.
