The pursuit of Steelers offensive line coach Mike Munchak is heating up considerably.
The Broncos, who had earlier this week requested permission to speak to Munchak regarding their now vacant head coaching position, have been granted permission to do so. That interview will take place Friday according to PaulKuharsky.com.
The Broncos are searching for a replacement for Vance Joseph, who was fired Monday.
In the meantime, the Packers also have asked for and received permission to interview Munchak for their open position according to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinal. Munchak will be the eighth person to interview for that position, vacated when Pittsburgh native Mike McCarthy was fired last month and replaced by Washington & Jefferson graduate Joe Philbin. Philbin, who led the Packers to a 2-2 record after McCarthy's firing, also has interviewed for the position.
The Dolphins also are reportedly interested in talking to Munchak, who has been with the Steelers since 2014 after being fired as head coach of the Titans. Munchak, who had a Hall of Fame career with the Oilers/Titans as a guard, compiled a 22-26 record with Tennessee.
