The Pirates apparently aren’t done shopping for free agent outfielders yet as they reportedly have interest in Brandon Guyer and Cameron Maybin.

Both are right-handed hitters and either would likely begin the season in a platoon in right field with left-handed hitting Lonnie Chisenhall, who was signed to a one-year, $2.75-million contract in free agency in November.

All would be stopgap measures until Gregory Polanco recovers from left shoulder surgery. The timeline is still vague on exactly when Polanco will be ready to play with the Pirates — any time between mid-April and mid-June.

Guyer, who turned 33 on Monday, hit just .206/.300/.371 with seven home runs, an 80 OPS+ and minus-0.2 WAR in 103 games for the Indians last season.

The 31-year-old Maybin played for the Marlins and Mariners in 2018, batting .249/.326/.336 in 129 games with four homers, 10 stolen bases, an 89 OPS+ and 1.2 WAR.

The Athletic reported the Pirates interest in Guyer and Maybin.

Guyer has hit left-handed pitchers at a .274/.376/.449 clip in his seven-year career while Maybin has just a .250/.312/.348 line over 12 seasons. Meanwhile, Chisenhall has hit .251/.313/.386 against lefties in his eight-year career, compared to .271/.321/.436 against right-handers.

Jose Osuna appears in line to possibly platoon with Chisenhall after a big winter ball season in his native Venezuela in which he batted .397/.462/.588 with one home run in 65 plate appearances. Osuna has spent part of the last two seasons with the Pirates, hitting .231/.263/.417 with 10 homers in 155 games but .253/.293/.481 against lefties.
