Joe Flacco is headed to Denver.

Wednesday, Adam Schefter reported the Ravens and Broncos have agreed to terms on a trade involving the former Super Bowl MVP. The new league year does not officially begin until March 13, however, so the trade cannot be finalized until that time. Schefter noted that, because of this, teams are currently prohibited from commenting on the terms of the deal.

Flacco was demoted this past season in favor of rookie quarterback Lamar Jackson, so this news is not altogether surprising. Jackson excelled in his seven regular-season starts, going 6-1 while passing for six touchdowns and adding another five on the ground. He lost his lone playoff appearance against the Chargers, 23-17, however, completing just 48 percent of his passes and taking seven sacks in that game.

Prior to this past season, Flacco had started every year for the Ravens since he joined the league in 2008. In 2012-13, Flacco lead his squad to a Super Bowl victory over the San Francisco 49ers and earned MVP honors for his performance.

In nine starts in 2018, the 33-year-old Flacco posted a 4-5 record with an 84.2 quarterback rating.

He'll seemingly enter a quarterback competition with Case Keenum, who went 6-10 as the Broncos starter last season, throwing for 3,890 yards and 18 touchdowns.
