Dominik Simon. - MATT SUNDAY / DKPS

First-line Dominik Simon is back.

Simon was centering the Czech team's top line alongside Jakub Voracek and Michael Frolik in the team's final practice before the World Championship begins in Slovakia, an indication it will likely be his spot when the Czechs open the tournament against Sweden on Friday.

Simon saw time centering both the first and second line in the pre-tournament exhibition games.

This wouldn't be the first time Simon played in the Czech team's top-6 in the tournament. He saw time with Jaromir Jagr on the second line in the 2015 World Championship in Prague, and recorded an assist on one of Jagr's goals.

The head coach of the Czech team is Milos Riha, who last coached HC Slovan Bratislava in the KHL until the 2017-18 season. This is his first season coaching the national team. Petr Nedved is in his first season as general manager of the national team.
