The fourth day of IIHF World Championship action in Slovakia featured four games on the schedule, three including Penguins players
Sweden dominated Norway in a 9-1 win. Patric Hornqvist scored the second and fifth goals of the game for Sweden, his fourth and fifth goals of the tournament. He has goals in all three of Sweden's games and is tied with Finnish phenom Kaapo Kakko for the most goals in the tournament.
Hornqvist recorded three shots and a plus-5 rating in 13:45 of ice time. Marcus Pettersson was scoreless and registered a plus-1 rating in 14:28.
• Evgeni Malkin and Dominik Simon met in Russia's 3-0 shutout of the Czech Republic, the Czech's first loss of the tournament. Malkin was scoreless in 14:32 of ice time, and his four shots on goal tied Russia's team lead. Simon recorded one shot and a minus-1 rating in 18:32.
• Canada defeated Slovakia, 6-5. Jared McCann recorded the secondary assist on Canada's first goal of the game, scored by Anthony Mantha. He registered no shots and an even plus/minus in 10:42. Matt Murray earned the win with 26 saves on 31 shots, including this save on Richard Panik:
