The Steelers earned a much-needed, 26-24 win over the Colts Sunday at Heinz Field, and they emerged mostly unscathed in the process.

Mostly.

Trey Edmunds — who served as the primary backup for Jaylen Samuels with both James Conner and Benny Snell nursing injuries — suffered a rib injury in the contest, as did Ryan Switzer. Fullback Roosevelt Nix, meanwhile, aggravated a knee injury that has already caused him to miss five games this year.

"Man, we had some injuries along the way: Trey Edmunds, ribs. Switzer, ribs. Rosie's aggravated his knee a little bit," Mike Tomlin told reporters in his postgame press conference. "All those guys will be evaluated. Hopefully, it won't prevent them from moving forward here next week. I know that we're going to need everybody because we just need to prepare ourself to be in battles like that. Such is life in the NFL. Nowhere to hide, man."

Edmunds ran for 73 yards on 12 carries in the game, including a 45-yard rip on his first touch. With Snell guaranteed to be out next week vs. the Rams as he recovers from meniscus surgery, Edmunds' potential absence could prove challenging for the Steelers.

Samuels ran for just 10 yards on eight carries against the Colts, but he added a team-leading 13 receptions for 73 yards.

Should Edmunds miss time, the loss would be greatly mitigated if the team gets Conner back from his shoulder/AC joint injury suffered in the team's Week 8 win over the Dolphins. Where that's concerned, Tomlin didn't have an update immediately after Sunday's game.

"I'll give it to you guys on Tuesday, in terms of what next week looks like and further discussions regarding him [Conner]," Tomlin said. "I'm sure there's an update, but I'm not privy to it. As we lean in on game time, I focus on the guys that are playing."

On the other side of the ball, Colts center Ryan Kelly went down with a burner injury — a nerve injury to the neck/shoulder — while quarterback Jacoby Brissett suffered an "MCL-ish" injury and will be re-evaluated.

“Just a knee, more MCL-ish,” Indianapolis coach Frank Reich said after the game of Brissett's injury. “I think they need to get a closer look at it, but I think at this point it looks like a sprain. But we’ll see to what degree. I think we’ve got to see how it responds.”
