Evgeni Malkin will miss the Penguins' game Thursday night at PPG Paints Arena against the Blue Jackets with an illness, Mike Sullivan confirmed during his pregame media availability.
Malkin's illness is the reason for Joseph Blandisi's emergency recall from Wilkes-Barre/Scranton this morning.
The Penguins are entering tonight's game with 119 man games lost to injury or illness, a number that will grow to 124 with the absences of Sidney Crosby, Nick Bjugstad, Brian Dumoulin, Patric Hornqvist, and now Malkin.
With Malkin out, Jake Guentzel shifts to center and Alex Galchenyuk is promoted to the top line:
Alex Galchenyuk -- Jake Guentzel -- Bryan Rust
Zach Aston-Reese -- Jared McCann -- Dominik Kahun
Dominik Simon -- Teddy Blueger -- Brandon Tanev
Joseph Blandisi -- Sam Lafferty -- Stefan Noesen
