The NFL Draft drew 600,000 people to Nashville, Tenn., last year as people flocked to the city to take part in what has become a huge event for the league.
According to reports, that won't happen this year in Las Vegas as a result of the COVID-19 outbreak.
Per multiple reports, the league has informed hotels in Las Vegas it won't need the allotment of rooms in the city April 23 through 25.
The NFL has informed their biggest host hotels in Vegas that the draft won't take place there April 23-25, industry sources tell me.
Many Vegas hotels are planning to scale down their operations beginning on Monday limited to a couple of restaurants, guest rooms, and casinos.

This doesn't mean the league isn't still planning on holding the draft. That seems unlikely. It also doesn't mean the draft is postponed. What it means is that the league is not going to make the draft the event it has become. Fans won't be invited to take part in any events. Players likely won't be invited to be on site.
But the draft can still take place. It would just be less of a made-for-tv event.
More to come.
