The NHLPA's executive board ratified the Return to Play plan and extension to the current collective bargaining agreement, the NHLPA announced on Tuesday night.

The executive board is comprised of 31 player representatives, one from each team.

The next step is a vote among all NHLPA members. The 48-hour voting window will open on Wednesday. Voting will be conducted electronically with a secret ballot.

The NHL's Board of Governors still must ratify the agreement.

If the players and Board of Governors both ratify the agreement, the collective bargaining agreement will be extended through the 2025-26 season, training camps will begin on July 13, and the qualifying round will begin on Aug. 1.

The Return to Play plan involves these protocols for training camp, and these protocols for games.

The collective bargaining agreement extension would set a flat $81.5 salary cap for the 2020-21 season, raise the NHL minimum salary to $750,000, and permit players to play in the 2022 and 2026 Olympics, among other changes.
