What’s Brewing 8.3

Good morning!

Dali and I were walking through the Strip yesterday, as we often do -- we live here -- and we stopped over at The Looney Bin, an independent sidewalk T-shirt vendor, to say hello to longtime subscriber Paul Dausch. Upon looking over his latest selection, one of which I'll proudly sport on tomorrow's Morning Java, he mentioned how much he appreciated Ramon Foster's column last week about the feeling of entering Heinz Field on a game day.

So he shared that with Ramon:

Here's Ramon's latest column, out today.

And here's my Tuesday morning podcast:

If you missed it over the weekend, Site Stuff offered our readers first dibs on four sponsorship spots in my 'Daily Shot' podcast on the reborn DK Sports Radio, and I'm delighted to share that we've already had two serious inquiries! Email me directly to be the next one: DK@DKPittsburghSports.com

This week's Brewing question: What have been your thoughts to date on watching sports on TV with the pumped-in crowd noise? Is one sport doing it better than another?

• The Pirates are in Minneapolis today for an 2:10 p.m. Eastern first pitch against the Twins, closing out this six-game trip. Alex Stumpf's out there at Target Field, after which he'll fly home. Our baseball coverage is on our team page.

• Dale Lolley, Chris Carter and I are on the Steelers. Training camp at Heinz Field is into Day 7, but media access won't begin until padded practices begin, and that's Aug. 17. We'll be there. Our football coverage is on our team page.

• The Penguins will play Game 3 tomorrow, 8 p.m., against the Canadiens in Toronto. Dave Molinari and Taylor Haase will handle everything from afar. Our hockey content is on our team page.
