This is the first time Pitt has been ranked in the AP Poll since November 18, 2018 when they were ranked 24th.
It's the sixth week Pitt has been ranked during Pat Narduzzi's tenure as a head coach. The highest the program has been ranked during that time was 22nd in 2016, after a three game win streak that included a 43-42 upset over No.1 ranked and eventual national champion Clemson.
Pitt was one of seven ranked ACC teams in the latest AP Poll:
• Clemson (1)
• Notre Dame (7)
• North Carolina (12)
• Miami (17)
• Louisville (18)
• Virginia Tech (20)
• Pitt (25)
The only other conference with more ranked teams this week is the SEC with eight.
Other ACC teams that received votes to be ranked were Georgia Tech (69), Virgina (39) and Florida State (2).
Pitt gets a chance to improve their ranking next week when they host 0-1 Syracuse at Heinz Field next Saturday at Heinz Field.
