The Steelers got almost everyone back at practice on Thursday as they continued preparation for their Week 3 matchup against the Texans at Heinz Field.
There was one notable exception, however. Wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster missed his second consecutive day of practice with a knee issue.
Smith-Schuster, who also missed practice last Wednesday with the injury but then played in a Week 2 win over the Broncos, is expected to suit up this week for the Steelers (2-0) against the Texans (0-2), but the fact he sat out the first two days this week is somewhat troubling.
Smith-Schuster is second to Diontae Johnson with 13 receptions on 14 targets in the Steelers' first two games for 117 yards and a team-best two touchdown catches.
It wasn't all bad news for the Steelers, however on the injury front. Guard David DeCastro, who missed the first two games of the season with a knee injury, made it through his second consecutive day of practice and appears to be on schedule to start against the Texans.
Nose tackle Tyson Alualu (knee contusion), and Johnson (toe) also were back after being held out Wednesday because of injuries.
